Although the game borrows a lot of elements from the first South Park RPG, there's still enough new content to keep players invested. If you're a fan of South Park, especially the superhero plot-line that pops up from time to time in the show, you'll love South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
Bored with their previous fantasy adventure, the neighborhood boys of South Park start up their own superhero business. Although the kids start off solving simple suburban crimes like a missing cat, they hope to eventually become popular enough to star in their own Netflix-style television show. With this lofty goal causing a few arguments along the way, the group split into two teams, starting a classic rivalry that carries the rest of the story. As in the previous game, you're free to explore South Park and pick up a variety of side-quests and activities, but your main goal is to become the most powerful superhero you can become!
Like the first game, Fractured But Whole features turn-based combat. As you progress through the game, you'll amass a party of friendly neighborhood kids, each with their own superhero identity.
Each character offers a different role in combat, be it a defensive tank, high-damage attacker, support healer, or anywhere between. In addition to the expected turn-based combat, Fractured But Whole adds a grid-style system, reminiscent of tactics games like Fire Emblem or Into the Breach. Players can move a certain number of squares around the board and utilize a variety of special attacks to damage, defuse, and destroy their competition.
Each superhero also has an awesome, animated ultimate attack, giving your team enormous help when needed. When you're not engaged in hilarious superhero battles, you'll spend a lot of time exploring South Park and meeting new friends. One of your main objectives in the game is to build up a hefty following on Coonstagram, the in-game social media app. This requires you to take selfies with different townsfolk, but not everyone is so keen on taking a picture. Sometimes you'll have to solve a simple environmental puzzle, clear out some enemies, or find the right item to convince them to take the snapshot.
As you gain more followers you'll level up, allowing you to further outfit your custom superhero with more moves and better upgrades. However, the easy-to-learn combat and approachable storytelling makes it one of the best superhero RPG games available. People Playground. The challenging Danger Deck will teleport you to never before seen locations throughout South Park to fight enemy encounters custom crafted by Tupperware. You can access Danger Deck in the Freedom Pals Base by interacting with the Danger Deck terminal, where you and your team of superheroes will be transported into these holographic battles.
These increasingly difficult encounters, comprised of a variety of different enemies from the game, will test and push the limits of any superhero. The story starts a bit slow, in the company of a new personalized child by you, with whom you abruptly go from the end of the Stick of Truth and its heroic-fantasy battles to a superhero thematic.

With the exception of Professor Chaos, who uses a special anime-worthy move in the intro, they are constantly seen wearing costumes patched up with scraps of everyday items, but their powers are nonetheless shown under the form of brightly colored explosions and they all boast superhuman strength and speed.
