If you are a long-term Galaxy device user, you will notice one missing feature of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Apps screen: you cannot cycle through panels when you reach the first or last panel. Samsung purposely disabled this for no reasons. Same happened to Galaxy S6 home screen panels. There is no empty panel of Samsung Galaxy S6 Apps screen. If there is no apps on a panel, the panel will not be displayed. But empty spots are allowed in all not just the last panels.

In other words, it is not necessary to fill all spots in a Galaxy S6 Apps screen panel. By default, the apps in Samsung Galaxy S6 Apps screen are sorted based on time of installation. No, there are no sorting options in App screen now. You have to manually sort apps by default, the apps are sorted based on installation date. Now on the S6 I need to go back through the other page to get there. I hope that makes sense. Not sure how else to word it.

Is there a way to change that setting? Yes, it is annoying. Samsung just removed the feature to cycle through pages in both Apps screen and home screen.

Probably, Samsung will add it in the future because this is a very useful feature in old TouchWiz. I agree. Samsung is trying to trim the features of bloated TouchWiz. But it seems many nice features were removed as well unfortunately. Not having alphabetical sorting and the option to hide apps on my S6 Edge is terrible. Ok software update may bring this back later I hope.

Has anyone tried moving apps around an S6 Edge app folder! Its so painful. The edge screen makes it so hit and miss to move an app between pages. Seriously thinking of sticking with my S4. Beautiful phone S6 Edge needs software changes fast.

Perhaps a new launcher? Yes, a lot of long term Samsung users will miss these features. I guess Samsung will gradually add more features to TouchWiz. To create app folders in Galaxy S6 app screen, tap edit button, then tap and hold one app, move it and drop it on another app. I have the same problem. Go into edit mode, select an app, move and drop it on another app and it just gets back to its previous place. Nothing happened. You may drop the app too fast. Before you release your finger, do you see the folder icon in the destination app?

In the main screen I can. Not sure. But in most regions, there are a few folders like tools for Samsung calculator, myfiles and a few other Samsung apps , Google, and Microsoft apps.

I took a second look, but no folders in de app screen. But as far as I know all the apps you mention were not in a map, but single icons in the app screen. Yes, a red minus-sign on a white background appears in the right-top corner of almost all apps the pre-installed basic apps like Phone, Contacts etc.

Hi, i dont have an EDIT option on my apps screen, is there anything i might have changed to move this? I am very disappointed about the loss of some of the features I had on my S4. I have 5 home screens and 7 screens in the app drawer. On all other Galaxy phones, including the Note Edge and the S5 all you have to do to jump from one screen to another was to hit the tiny little white indicator at the bottom.

On my S6 all that does now is move to the next screen same as swiping. Is there a way to directly jump from say, the 1st screen on the left to the last screen on the right with one push?

If not, Samsung needs to figure out a way for us to add the missing features we love! The cycling through pages feature in app screen and home screen is formally removed from TouchWiz in galaxy s6. Samsung apparently made a wrong decision on this.

The only way to reach the app after this disappearance is to open the app store and open the app through there. Restart device. The missing app icons are still missing from all locations. What else to do? You can also try to clear cache partition to see whether it helps. So i just got a new galaxy s6 today and all of my apps were not showing in my phone. They were showing in the application manager and in the play store as downloaded.

This was driving me nuts!!!!!! After unstalling and restarting several times and nothing worked. I looked in my apps one more time and I saw what looked like an app called social. BOOM there was instagram. Then i saw another one called google and BOOM there was gmail.

So apprarently the S6 is hiding some apps in these little folders. Very tricky I must say. These are just app folders.

Did you have a screen lock? You can set it to swipe, instead of none. Actually, it is not so easy to remove apps accidentally from home screen.

Their problem is due to some firmware bugs apps or folders disappear after rebooting. I do use a screen lock. But every once in a while, I unlock the screen and an app is missing.

This happens with bookmarked websites I save to the home screen too. Just bought me a Samsung Galaxy S6 but I am unable to create folders. I have tried the Edit, tap, drug, drop suggestions but nothing happens. Anymore suggestions? When you move an app over another app, before releasing your finger from the screen, do you see any changes of the target app icon? Sorry for spamming but i found gmail and drive in a new google button that holds them so that at least is not an issue.

HI, i am trying to hide an app that was installed from the market place. In the past, you were able to do the following: 1. Open the App drawer. Tap on the Menu. Select Hide applications option. Here you can choose the apps or games that you want to hide by tapping on the little black box in the upper right of each app. Click the Done button to save your changes. Can you please explain how you can do the hide. The hiding apps feature was removed in new TouchWiz launcher in Galaxy S6. You need try some third party launcher if you need hide some apps in galaxy s6.

If you move it over another app, it will create a folder. Then for no apparent reason one folder will just not be there anymore. Happened twice now. Anyone else having similar issues?

Was this step helpful? Yes No I need help. Once you're on the home screen, you'll need to access the "Apps" folder icon. In the "Apps" folder, you can swipe through your applications to locate the ones that you would like to add to the home screen. You can move the held icon around the home screens. If you tap on "Apps" again, you'll see that Google Chrome will also still be in the "Apps" folder. No, just thanks.
